Who we are
Jacksonville Deck Builders is a licensed, insured deck contractor working across Duval, Clay, St. Johns and Nassau counties. We’re not a national franchise with a local phone number — we live here, we build here, and when you call, you get someone who knows what a Mandarin riverfront ledger detail looks like and why an Orange Park deck under an oak canopy needs wider drainage gaps.
We’ve built somewhere north of 1,200 decks in Northeast Florida. That’s not a brag — it’s the reason we can tell you, on the first visit, what your project is actually going to involve.
How we work
Our own crew. The people who show up to build your deck work for us. There is no chain of subcontractors, no finger-pointing when something needs fixing, and no mystery about who’s responsible.
Written, itemized pricing. Your quote lists what you’re getting and what it costs. The price we quote is the price you pay. We don’t do the “we hit something unexpected” change order routine.
We pull the permits. Duval, Clay, St. Johns, Nassau — we handle drawings, submission and inspections. You never stand in a county line.
We tell you the truth. If your deck can be repaired instead of replaced, we’ll say so, even though a rebuild is a bigger job for us. If composite is the wrong call for your budget, we’ll say that too. We’d rather earn a customer for the next twenty years than win one job dishonestly.
What we build for
Florida is hard on decks. Heat, humidity, storms, salt air, hurricane-season wind loads, aggressive UV, and a mosquito population with real ambition. Every choice we make — the hardware, the gapping, the flashing, the elevation, the screen mesh — is a response to one of those.
That’s the whole difference between a deck that looks great for twenty years and one that looks great for four. It’s mostly invisible, and it’s mostly what you’re paying us for.
Licensed, insured, and warrantied
We carry general liability and workers’ compensation insurance on every job, and we’ll provide proof on request before work begins. Every deck is backed by a written workmanship warranty on top of the manufacturer’s material warranty. If something we built isn’t right, we come back and make it right.
